Glucose Guide

What Does A1C Measure?

A1C is a laboratory measure used to estimate longer-term average blood glucose exposure. It is different from a single finger-stick or continuous glucose reading.

Why this matters when reading supplement marketing

Marketing can blur the line between supporting normal body functions and treating a diagnosed disease. FDA distinguishes structure/function claims from disease claims, and disease-treatment claims are not permitted for products marketed only as dietary supplements.

Keep measurements and treatment in context

Do not use a supplement article to diagnose yourself or change prescribed treatment. Use clinical measurements with guidance appropriate to your health situation.
